I am not sure if the above is different between MacBooks? It made a huge difference on my MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch Late 2012 adding genuine resolutions (i.e. thunderbolt) to DisplayPort connector, not an HDMI to HDMI connector - you will likely find a lot more available resolutions namely, everything that the monitor and MacBook can support which is higher resolution than 1920 x 1080 (aka 1080p) ![]()
